AARON Kroll, JD/mba

Partner

Aaron started his career at an investment bank in Cleveland, OH working on deals in the real estate and oil/gas industries. There he gained a deep appreciation for small businesses which has shaped his entire career. Aaron then transitioned to Richmond, VA to a private equity real estate investment firm, running the capital raising and investor relations for the company’s private funds. From there he started a business consulting company that specialized in assisting small businesses with strategy development, marketing, capital raising, and problem solving. Through this company, he helped launch an alternative hedge fund that invested in the peer to peer lending space and successfully completed $10+ million in commercial real estate deals as a partner in a commercial real estate investment firm. Aaron earned a Juris Doctor from The University of Akron in addition to a Master of Business Administration, summa cum laude, in Finance. He also received an executive leadership certificate from Cornell University. Aaron received a Bachelor of Science, cum laude, in Business Management from Virginia Tech. Aaron lives in Glen Allen, VA with his wife Gillian and son Colton.

Prior to becoming a partner at Sterling Point Advisors, Trey was a Vice President with BB&T as a commercial lender and relationship manager.  A BB&T Leadership Development Program graduate, Trey spent 8 years combined working in Georgia, Florida and Virginia and held regional sales leadership positions as well as served on the local senior leadership team.  Having come from a family of business owners, Trey has a passion for helping businesses cement their legacies through well-thought succession plans and exit strategies. Trey earned a Bachelors of Business Administration from the Georgia College & State University as a magna cum laude graduate and is a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma Honorary Business Society.  Outside of work, Trey enjoys playing sports, running, hiking and giving back as a board member of the downtown Richmond YMCA. Trey and his wife Whitney live in Richmond with their boy-girl twins.

Luke Campbell

Managing Director

Luke is a Managing Director responsible for leading execution on transactions for our clients, leveraging his experience in corporate M&A and strategy.  Luke previously spent 12 years in various M&A, strategy, and finance roles at Genworth Financial, a Fortune 500 financial services firm.  Luke started as a financial analyst, then spent 8 years in Corporate Development evaluating and executing strategic M&A actions, completing over $6.4 billion in transactions ranging in value from $25 million to $2.7 billion.  Most recently, Luke was the Director of Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis, responsible for analyzing and forecasting the company’s financial performance and evaluating and executing strategic decisions at the organizational level.

Outside of the office, Luke can likely be found playing sports, learning, or doting on his two girls alongside his wife, Whitney. Luke is a devoted fan of his alma mater the Duke Blue Devils, where he earned his MBA with honors. Luke is also passionate about helping to enable upward socioeconomic mobility and is actively involved as a foster parent in Richmond, VA.

Vice President

As the Vice President of the Charlotte office, Chase is responsible for client relations and business development in North Carolina. He brings a wide range of relationship management skills gained from working in the private sector in land acquisition as well as his experience in the political arena. Prior to joining Sterling Point Advisors, Chase worked in politics as a communications coordinator and regional field director where he gained experience organizing field operations and managing strategic initiatives. During his time in land acquisition, Chase dealt with deal sourcing and due diligence gaining an understanding of the role local government plays in the development process.

Chase earned a Bachelors in Political Science from Wake Forest University. He is active in his community having served on the board of The Charlotte Rescue Mission as well as having served on the Alumni Governing Board of his alma mater Charlotte Latin. Outside of work, Chase plays various individual and team sports, can often be found reading, and enjoys exploring the outdoors.

Richard E. Byrne

Vice President of Business Development

Richard supports Sterling Point Advisors as the director of Business Development where he is charged in helping business owners develop a sell strategy for their businesses to return the highest profitable return on their sale. Richard, a retired commercial banker has over 30 years of experience in many aspects of the banking industry. He attended school at the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics in 1978.He has been married to his lovely wife Terry for 33 years and they have two grown daughters. He is currently enjoying the adventures of his twin grandsons.

Michael earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Radford University. While studying at Radford he spent summers working as an assistant manager for Vector Marketing, overseeing sales representatives for premium cutlery. Michael was also a student intern with S.L. Nusbaum Realty Co., a leading commercial real estate company in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia and holds a Virginia Real Estate License.As a Virginia Beach native, Michael enjoys spending his leisure time on the water, surfing and kayaking.

Ricki cole

Business Analyst and Executive Assistant

Ricki brings over 15 years of professional experience in the private, non-profit and government sectors with an expertise in financial banking and investment, real-estate, career development, and training. She has worked with multiple Fortune 500 companies to develop operating procedures, policy regulation guidelines, training material, and has collaborated with corporate risk-management on implementing new databases and upgrade existing systems. As a participant consultant and employee advisor, she worked with organizations to tailor end-user applications, enhance cross-departmental and client communications, optimize workflow processes, and has had her forward-focused strategic concepts adopted for company-wide use. Ricki earned her MBA from the University of Nottingham, England, focusing in Corporate Social Responsibility and Business Ethics.
